Competency/Learning Objective - Legal knowledge and skills

This course will highlight recent case law developments on topics of interest to commercial lawyers. It will provide links to relevant source materials.

By the end of the course you should be able to advise authoritatively on the most recent developments in relation to topics including:

  • implying a duty of faith into a joint venture contract

  • when it is inappropriate to use a non-disclosure agreement

  • the effect of a contractual termination notice on a claim for loss of bargain

  • the doctrine of frustration

  • the law as to penalties
